This ShopPro Cyclone Mechanics length drill bit set is used for drilling into harder materials and hard metal. They are shorter than jobber drill bits which are the most common type of drill bit. The shorter length and shorter flute length of mechanics length drill bits make them more resistant to breakage and ideal for tight spaces. They also provide less drilling depth. They have a 135 Deg. split point tip for self-centering and reducing thrust. They can be used with standard chucks and collets making them low-cost substitutes in some applications and are made in USA.
